Alright everyone, it’s wednesday and I’ve just had one of the most disappointing reviews of my career but, today, it’s time for a different sort of suffering. Because it’s my birthday and that means extract sauce:

This is Ten Minute Burn. The original extract sauce from The Chilli Pepper Company, making waves long before their Hell Unleashed made headlines. So I’m not expecting quite the same level of stomach churning heat but I’m still going to be very careful with this one.

It has a reputation to it and I know full well what the company are capable of. So I won’t be underestimating it, despite my eagerness to see how everything began.

Sweet Chilli Beast

Happy tuesday again, everyone!

This week, I’m looking at another old friend of ours, The Chilli Pepper Company, for what is supposedly a “sweet chilli sauce for psychos”. Though, to me, it looks a lot darker and more barbecue-like:

Hence my decision to feature The Beast now – Right after The Wicked Chilli’s sadly lacklustre naga barbecue – in the hopes that a company who’ve proven themselves in the past can do a better job.

Witch Time

Happy may day, everyone! Today I’d like to celebrate a special occasion but perhaps not that one.

Instead, I’d like to talk about a lesser-known german holiday, walpurgisnacht.

It’s the night of Saint Walpurga, the last night of april and, due to my upload times, the night I’m actually posting this on. But it’s also known for being the night when the witches come out. The night when people stay indoors to avoid being spirited away, never to return.

So, with that in mind, I’d like to show you the Chilli Pepper Company’s Witches’ Brew. A sauce which is supposedly their caribbean take on Tabasco.

The Welsh Dragon

Happy thursday folks, we’re getting close to christmas and this is a bit later than I’d originally hoped to have it but here’s the dragon’s breath:

And yes, it’s in a sauce.

In fact, it’s a sauce you’ve already seen. It’s an updated version of The Chilli Pepper Company’s earlier, less grammatically correct “Dragons Breath”.

Whether this change is just to avoid confusion or because they seriously believe in the strain, I couldn’t say but I appreciate it. It keeps the sauce from having the name of a chilli it doesn’t contain and, more excitingly, it gives me a way to check the pepper out.

I never did manage to get a sample from either of the two people who claimed to have developed it but, while I’m still very sceptical of the dragon’s breath chilli, I’m definitely curious. I’m definitely happy to have my hands on it.

And, as the first superhot said to be literally inedible, I feel I have a duty to prove its growers wrong.

A New World’s Hottest?

So here’s something I’m sure you’ve all seen by now:

Chilli Bob’s Farm’s and Tom Smith’s Plants’ dragon’s breath chilli. A tree-like plant that produces some small but supposedly extremely hot peppers with an average scoville rating of almost two and a half million.

Compared to the average heat of the current record holder, the carolina reaper (between 1.4 and 1.57 million, depending on when you take the record from), this is a massive step up. It even beats out the reaper’s 2.2 million peak.

Such a stunning heat difference that it has been all over the news and in social media feeds across the globe.

Today I have for you their Dragons Breath, missing apostrophe and all. It too claims to be a “very hot” sauce but we’ll soon see if it compares to the amazing Ball Breaker.

Of Strawberries and Scorpions

Hello again spice lovers, happy tuesday oncemore.

Today I have for you a special offering from the chilli pepper company, made in conjunction with the Fire Breathing Idiot, Ted Barrus.

Some of you will know the guy, while some of you may be less familiar with his work but Ted is another chilli reviewer, preferring to put out sensationalist videos rather than written reviews.

From the way he can describe chillies and sauces professionally in a single take, the man clearly has a lot of skill but his challenge oriented approach and ridiculous video effects made me quite unclear what to expect of a sauce tailored to his tastes.
