Science & Sorcery

Happy tuesday, everyone! This week, we have another company who wax seal their beautiful bottles but their products aren’t shipped over from the states like our last. They’re made here in the UK and I’ve got not one but two of them to show you, today:

These are Heriot Hott’s sweet chilli and barbecue-style sauces but neither has anything like the usual list of ingredients and neither looks quite like I’d expect, either.

A Pembrokeshire Sauce Pair

So, now that valentine’s day is out of the way, I think it’s time that we returned to my regular line-up and took a look at something I’ve had in the wings for a while: The last of my order from Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm.

A particularly boozy pair, featuring chipotle and bourbon, on the left, alongside an apple-based collaboration with the Pembrokeshire Cider Co. to our right. Promising a little more heat, from the inclusion of its habaneros, but hopefully a smooth and fruity flavour, too.

I’ve been looking forward to these for quite a while now. So let’s try them out!

Grim Marmalades

Hey folks, happy tuesday!

As I mentioned in 📽️a recent video📽️, there was a bit of a mix-up with my last shipment from Grim Reaper Foods. Everything that I’d ordered arrived on time, intact and of the high quality that I’ve come to expect from Russell but the free challenge chocolate that he’d promised me mysteriously morphed into something else:

YellowHabMarm

A lemon and yellow habanero marmalade, infused with gin and tonic.

A product which has only just made it onto his website and was, at the time it arrived, just as unreleased as his upcoming “Chocolate by Death”. Yet it’s not nearly of the same challenge calibre.

Russell’s spiced-up gin marmalade is a flavour-focussed preserve, not an extreme heat item, so it’s far more suited to a serious, written review. One which I intend to give it, today, alongside its blood orange brother.

The One that Got Away

Happy tuesday, spice lovers and welcome back to another fiery food review.

Recently, we’ve been looking at a lot of rather strong sauces – Anywhere from regular “hot” to pushing the upper limits of what we all know to be possible – and last week’s “mild” cranberry chocolate did nothing to bring the heat back down. So today, I’d like to show you something more medium that I’ve been holding onto for quite a while:

AppleChipotle

Hot-Headz’ own Apple Chipotle Bourbon BBQ.

I discovered this barbecue sauce all the way back in twenty-seventeen and was so impressed that I talked my local chilli shop into stocking it. But, to my dismay, it was discontinued before I could put my love for it into words online.

Only recently has it resurfaced, giving me the opportunity to talk about it oncemore, but I’m not going to let it get away from me again. So please, read on and discover what it is that makes today’s product my all time favourite from Hot-Headz.

Feeling Bitter

Another tuesday, time for another spicy review. And this one, like the recent 🔥 Godslayer 🔥, is something that I can’t show you until after the Continue Reading button. It’s just as sweary.

But, unlike that one, it’s not a crazily hot extract sauce. It’s an usual cocktail ingredient or two that I got as a birthday gift and would rather like to talk about.

Dying in Style

Well, it’s my birthday again but it might not be a happy one. Not when you’ve chosen what was probably the hottest and definitely the most expensive option on my poll.

This year’s extract sauce tasting is unlikely to be as brutal as 🔥 my first year’s 🔥 but I’m sure that it’ll at least give last year a run for its money. And it is, once again, two sauces.

Two sauces that I can’t show you until after the “Continue reading” button because one of them uses the F-word.

Super Smoky Syrup

Hey folks, last month we looked at a delicious new product that I got at Reading Chilli Festival but this month I have something even newer for you.

This week’s product comes to you from Burning Desire Foods, is a little more out there than a sauce and was actually released on the day of the event. What I have for you is their chipotle syrup:

Smoked Spookiness

Happy tuesday oncemore, today I’m bringing you a sauce from The Chilli Alchemist.

2016-09-20-13-02-29

Their proudest work, their Smoke Potion: Magnum Opus. Which is an upgrade to their original Smoke Potion, an excellent and slightly sweet chipotle sauce to which they have added honey bourbon, mustard and smoked ghost pepper.

People asked for more heat and the alchemist delivered.
