Alright everybody, it’s my last post of twenty twenty-one and we’re now in that weird nothing period between the big winter holidays. So I feel like I’m fighting the inevitable here but I still want to at least try to make this post memorable and end the year on a high point.
To that end, I’ve gathered together three of the potentially hottest natural sauces on the planet:
Daddy Cool‘s Final Destination, made with everything from habanero up to hurt berry – A new FG Jigsaw hybrid, said to far exceed the heat of the reaper.
Chilli Bob‘s Dragon‘s Breath Chilli Sauce, crafted from a similarly named pepper that we’ve already established surpassed that current record holder. Yet haven’t seen in anything pure enough to shift the upper limits of my scale just yet.
And Badger’s Chilli Kitchen’s Armageddon The End, with a whopping eighty percent armageddon chilli, making it the most chilli-centric sauce of the lot.
Any one of these three could be the new top of nature but which, if any, actually will?

So last week’s post may have had the word “present” in the title but today it’s actually my birthday. And you know what that means?
Yep, it’s time for me to suffer for my craft, once again. To push on through the pain of some of the country’s hottest sauces, far in excess of anything that Pembrokeshire Chilli Farm could offer.
Because, by this point, it’s a well-established tradition that I celebrate with something extract-based. A single product – Or maybe more – that defies nature’s limits, using pure, concentrated capsaicin.
This year, the company in question is one which I know all too well. The ever-enjoyable Badger’s Artisan Foods, whose extract offering caught my attention mere moments too late for the previous festivities but will be on full display today.
Here it is – Their Badger X:
A small, fifty mil bottle but, if it’s truly up there with the world’s hottest, those fifty mililitres are going to go a long way.
So, now that we’re back onto sweet sauces, what do you lot say we take another look at one of my favourite fruit?
This, here, is Can I Play with Mangos – A product that I promised to talk about back when I tried Rock A Doodle Do’s other, more mythology-themed sauces. Because, while that pair highlighted their irish heritage, the company’s origins lie elsewhere. In classic rock and metal puns.
But, truth be told, I’ve felt no urgency in getting to their Iron Maiden-inspired mango and habanero sauce because, hard as such a pairing is to screw up, Rock A Doodle Do’s last feature didn’t exactly fill me with confidence.
So, just in case they have gone that extra mile somehow, I’m going to throw in another couple of mango sauces alongside theirs. Both with rather more exciting chillies.
As another year comes to a close, it’s time to turn my sights to a new company:
Badgers Artisan Foods
A fairly recent one, started in 2016 with some home-grown chillies and this very sauce.
You might think, therefore, that they’d call it their original, but you’d be wrong. The peach and orange packaging and cheeky badger logo may look friendly and inviting but this is their Reaper Sauce.
It takes a bold chef to start a company with a world record but what I want to know is whether the taste can match the implied burn?
