Indian Fruit & Fire

Sup folks, it’s tuesday again and, I’ve held off on this pair for a little too long already. So, today, we’re going to see a couple more mango sauces, from Alkemio Kitchen and Hop’t:

Two rather unique takes on this fruit and chilli combo from two very experimental companies. One featuring green jalapeños, red scotch bonnets and citrussy hops, while the other’s more focussed on indian spices, including turmeric, cumin and nigella seed.

Neither sounds quite like what I’m used to but that’s part of the fun of running a blog like this. I get to try a tonne of unique flavours and, hopefully, find something which I truly love.

Now let’s see if I’m going to do so today.

Jerk Trio

Hey folks, I hope you’re ready for another heaping helping of hot because, this week, I’m back with not one, not two but three fiery jerk blends, featuring everything from the traditional scotch bonnet to one of the UK’s absolute hottest. And every single one of them comes from a company that I know and love!

Hot Pods, Alkemio Kitchen, Daddy Cool’s and even Cliff, the Devon Chilli Man, are all represented among today’s trio and I’m looking forward to the lot. But, even so, one particular product stands out. And not just in its appearance…

Dark and Dry

Hey folks, I said that we were going to be seeing some more from Alkemio Kitchen soon. So, what better time and way to start than today, with a sauce that I’ve already shown you but couldn’t previously go into depth about?

This is Fergus’ Black Garlic, Chipotle, Tamarind, Chocolate and that last titular ingredient makes it a perfect fit for my first post after World Chocolate Day. But it’s not the only such festive item that I have for you, this year.

I’d also like to showcase a little something in the same vein – Featuring the same blend of chipotle and chocolate – from a less familiar company:

The Chipotle Chocolate Stout, from Hop’t. Which, as their name implies, is heavily focussed on the use of hops. Albeit in a very different setting from any that we’ve seen such herbs in before.

In fact, it isn’t even the same sort of hops as any of those past products. But you’ll have to read on if you want to see what sets them apart.

Back in Alkemio’s Kitchen

Happy thursday again, everyone. Do you remember when I got an affiliate link from Alkemio Kitchen?

Well, that link ran out a while ago, since it was only good for the duration of the company’s Kickstarter, but, for anyone who needs a refresher, my old post about it is still up and running. And my rewards arrived just recently.

So, today, I’d like to take a quick moment to welcome Alkemio Kitchen to my sidebar proper. And to thank you all for making it happen.

Watermelon Sugar Spice

Happy Star Wars day, everyone!

Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything as amazingly on theme to show you as the D_ _ th S_ ★r O.G, this year, and a look at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge show’s that they’re only serving drinks and snacks, right now. So no inspiration there.

But, from what little I saw of their old menu, they sure seemed fond of their charred meats. And I do, at least, have a sauce for that.

This is Alkemio Kitchen’s Watermelon, Cucumber, Lemongrass, Sugar and, if you’re thinking that you’ve seen it before, you might well be correct. Not only does it use the exact same packaging as the rest of the brand but it also featured lightly in my recent overview of the company. Which you can find here.

Today, however, I’m going to give it far more thorough look.

Alkemio Kickstarter

Hey folks, happy thursday!

This is not a post that I was planning to write but, today, I have some fantastic news to share: I’ve got my first affiliate link. And it’s not from the company that I was expecting.

The one that I’ll be featuring is Alkemio Kitchen, who you’ve seen a couple of reviews for, in recent weeks, and are just now making their way onto Kickstarter. So, if you’ve liked what you’ve seen, so far, please do use 💰this link💰 or the one in my sidebar to go check them out and support both me and the company.

Or read on, to find out more about them and what this means for my reviews.

Two Berries

Hey folks, it’s tuesday, again, and last week we looked at some bright and tangy, yellow sauces. So, today, I figured I’d go the other direction with somethings dark. Yet twice as fruity.

Another couple from the companies that we’ve been looking at recently but, this time, they’re blueberry. Or, in the case of Alkemio Kitchen, Blueberry, Miso, Scotch Bonnet, Mint.

A very curious combination which is sure to provide an interesting counterpoint to Haskhell’s more traditional take.
